Our Advent/Christmas program tells the Christmas story through the Stations of the Crib. Following the format of the Stations of the Cross, we travel from Nazareth to Bethlehem with Mary and Joseph. Our prayer at each station is "We adore you, O Jesus, and we bless you, for by your holy birth you have given love to the world."
La Salle Catholic School students in grades fourth through six shared a special Veteran’s Day presentation on Wednesday, November 11. The presentation focused on the patron saints of the military and closed with a slide show of photos of veterans with a connection to the school.
Students at La Salle Catholic School love and appreciate their grandparents. Grandparents play an important role in the lives of their grandchildren. We are filled with gratitude for the many ways grandparents help and support our school students. We pray for the health and safety of our students' grandparents. Students have recorded a short song as a way to acknowledge and salute our grandparents. Click on the headline above to go to the video.
During this time of social distancing due to COVID-19, you can still support your parish. You can make a donation to your parish through a safe and reliable online giving portal that's part of the Archdiocese of Dubuque website. The Archdiocese is not the recipient of these funds, your parish is. The Archdiocese is just helping facilitate online donations. Every donation of any amount is appreciated and makes a difference! Thank you for your support! Click on the headline, Parish Support, to make a donation to one of the parishes in the La Salle Pastorate.
Not at all. If you file an Iowa Income Tax Return, your contributions to the Our Faith School Tuition Organization (STO) receive a 65% tax credit. That means for every $1000 you donate, you receive an Iowa income tax credit, not a deduction, of $650, which would lower your Iowa tax bill by $650. In addition, your gift may qualify for federal deductibility. And that gift you made? It’s going to provide $1000 in need-based assistance to families in the Archdiocese of Dubuque. And your out of pocket cost for that gift? No more than $350 and will be less if you itemize and are able to take the federal charitable gift deduction! It really is that simple. Visit www.ourfaithsto.org or call the Archdiocese of Dubuque at 800-876-3546 ext. 219 to learn more.
La Salle Catholic School is the recipient of a $1000 grant from DRA to use for technology for teachers in the classroom. With this grant money La Salle was able to purchase three Lenovo laptop computers. Instructional technology plays an integral role in the classroom. Teachers need to manage and plan activities and instruction for student learning. We are very grateful to DRA for making it possible to purchase these computers.
